Building Hope in El Salvador
Families in El Salvador face homelessness from storms, poverty, and instability. We’re building alongside them — bringing dignity, safety, and a future.
Help Build a HomeWhy El Salvador?
Tropical storms, poverty, and instability leave thousands of families without safe housing each year. Beginning in El Salvador, Hope & Horizons walks with families through rebuilding — providing not just walls and a roof, but the dignity and hope that come with a real home.
Families home again
The Lopez Family
Melvin collected plastic bottles, cans, and metal to feed his family every day. They had no running water — he lined old refrigerators with plastic to store it. No power. When his truck broke down, the family went without food that day. One Sunday he asked Pastor Kenton to pray for a home. The next morning, Josh called. Within weeks, they had one — plus a solar unit so the kids can do homework and Melvin can fix his truck after dark.
✓ Home completeThe Flores Family
For years the Flores family slept on a dirt floor — surrounded by moisture, insects, and the constant threat of flooding. Today they have a cinder block home with a double-locking front door. Safe, secure, and built to last.

Mother Teresa
She’s raising her three grandchildren full time — and took in two more children who had no one. Five children, one woman, every single day. Their adobe home harbored an insect that carries Chagas disease, an incurable illness that put those children at risk just by living there.
And now it’s happening. The unsafe walls have come down, the ground is broken, and a safe cinder block home is rising in its place — with room to breathe, room to grow, and freedom from those insects. A generous local business made it possible.
