The Lopez family didn’t just need a home.
They were praying for one.
One Sunday in El Salvador, they asked Pastor Kenton, “Will you pray with us? We are in desperate need of a home.”
So he did.
The very next day, I called Kenton and asked, “Do you have a family that needs a house?”
He almost couldn’t contain it.
“I sure do.”
And he told me about the Lopez family.
Here’s what gets me.
While they were praying for a home, God had already placed a burden on the heart of one of our Hope and Horizons families. A family who had seen the need firsthand and said, “I want to do something about this.”
That one yes became the answer to their prayer.
Today, the Lopez family is no longer crowded. No longer wondering where they belong. They have a safe, secure, sustainable home.
Five thousand dollars changed their lives forever.
In my opinion, that’s the best return on investment there is.
Because one yes did this.
Which means another yes could do it again.
Maybe that yes is yours.
